Can I just clarify with basic DT3 I can still drag and drop emails as .eml from Mail?
I need the Pro version to do things like import .mbox and use the Mail Plugin. Is that correct?

Correct. Tha Standard edition still allows importing emails, e.g., via drag and drop.
