Do group tags not apply anymore to group document?

I sometimes set tags of a group in order to automatically tag with these tags all the documents which will go in this group.

This worked perfectly in DT2. In DT3 (V 3.0.1) I cannot get this to work. Why?

It’s disabled by default (e.g. in case of indexed groups it’s not consistent with the way the Finder handles tags) but can be enabled via File > Database Properties > Inherit tags of groups

Was that in DT2 the same (and I just did a “set and forget”)?

In version 2 the tags were always inherited but version 3 features a tighter Finder integration of indexed items and therefore this had to be revised.
