I setup my iPhone to sync with DevonThink on my Mac both by iCloud and Bonjour, because Bonjour appears faster when I am at home. Does this make sense or does it mean that I am crazy ?

As far as I know it’s a common approach. However that doesn’t mean that you’re not crazy.
