Down arrow scrolls the view instead of just moving the cursor

DTP 4.4 OSX 26.7

Down arrow scrolls the view instead of just moving the cursor

Steps: 1. Open a Markdown document in DEVONthink’s editor (edit mode).
2. Place the cursor on a line and press the down arrow once.

Result: the cursor moves down one line, but the whole document scrolls down about half a page, so the cursor is no longer where expected in the view. Pressing the down arrow again scrolls the view back and shows the cursor, now two lines lower than where it started.

Expected: the cursor moves down one line and the view scrolls only if the cursor leaves the visible area.

Already checked: “Typewriter-like scrolling” is off.

Workaround: turning syntax highlighting off and back on (Settings > Files > Markdown), then reselecting the document, restores normal behaviour (the cursor moves one line down without the view jumping).

Please post a screenshot or upload the used Markdown document as this is most likely related to the document and its structure. Thanks!

This problem and some other funky functionality with md docs seem to be solved in 4.4.1. I can go back to using WYSIWYG. Have not yet used the tables improvement but it looks good. Thanks!

While I have your attention, is there any way to change the order of the document control icons? I would rather see first the icon options for Preview/Source/SbS. Although they are on shortcuts, I tend to click the icon more.

No, the controls on the Editing and Navigation bars cannot be modified or moved.
