Currently on MacOS 27.0 and DT4.4.1.

Since upgrading to MacOS 27, dragging and dropping files from DT to Mail no longer works. It appears to, but they always result in 0b files once sent. When trying to open before sending, I get the following message from Apple Mail:

“Error - Mail was unable to save the attachment “[Attachment Name]” to disk. Verify that your downloads folder exists and is writable.”

I believe this is a bug on DT4’s end caused by a change in MacOS 27. Files dragged first to another folder (like downloads) from DT4 and THEN to Mail work fine. It’s just when dragging directly from DT4 to Mail when it fails.

Side note: no failures or issues seem to show in the log view, unless I have a setting wrong that hides it.

What kind of files do you drag? And where do you drop them (e.g. onto the Dock icon)?

Usually PDFs, and rarely DOCX, and I drag them directly into the Mail draft window. Prior they have always attached properly.

I couldn’t reproduce the issue, I dragged Zip archives, PDFs and DOCX files into a draft window. But I’m using a beta of 27.2. Does it work after rebooting or after enabling full disk access for Apple Mail?

Interesting - enabling that full disk access for Apple Mail did the trick. Not sure what changed, but glad to have this working again. Hopefully this thread helps others who have the same issue, and thank you for the help!
