Dropbox "DEVONthink" & "DEVONthink Packet Sync" folders

I want to set up syncing of selected databases with Dropbox. I did this before a long time ago but I changed to box.com. Now I want to switch back to Dropbox.

Before I begin to set it up, I see that in Dropbox I have two folders related to DEVONthink.

One is: Apps > DEVONthink

The other is: Apps > DEVONthink Packet Sync

Both have the selective sync box unchecked, so that they don’t actually sync with my macOS Dropbox folder.

My question is, why are there two DEVONthink folders? What’s the difference between the two? I forgot.

Apps > DEVONthink is from Sync 1 and can be deleted.
Apps > DEVONthink Packet Sync is from our new Sync engine and should be left alone.

Hi I have a Devonthink Packet Sync folder on my dropbox - I want to clear dropbox and all my syncing is through iCloud - why is the dropbox folder being updated and how can I safely delete.

Okay - I think I’ve worked it out - I had a local sync store turned on on Mac which was on dropbox… so have turned off now…
