Hi, Omniscient Board!

Today I installed DT Office Pro 2.9, and I am still wrestling with the new sync routine. When trying to set up the sync with my WebDAV provider (Strato) in DT, I get an error message telling me I cannot initialise the sync, “forbidden (403)”. However, I can access the WebDAV server via the Finder, and DT 2.8 runs fine using the old sync stores on the same server without any problem, which is why my guess is that something in the new DT version does not work as it should. Does anybody have any clues as to what might be going on, or what I can do to resolve this problem?

Thanks!
The Smurf

A screenshot of the WebDAV setup of the old and new sync might be useful, thanks.

Your username is not the same in both setups.

According to the Strato documentation…

> [@](#):
>
> User / User name

is the correct syntax.

Also…

> [@](#):
>
> - For establishing more than one WebDAV connection: [username1.webdav.hidrive.strato.com](http://username1.webdav.hidrive.strato.com)

The URL isn’t complete, you have to append the path.

Hello again!

> [@BLUEFROG](#):

Well, the username actually _is_ the same, and unfortunately the suggested changes based on the Strato documentation did not do the trick, but this did:

> [@cgrunenberg](#):
>
> The URL isn’t complete, you have to append the path.

, which I had found out via this post in this thread:

> [@new webdav sync setup nightmare...](https://discourse.devontechnologies.com/t/new-webdav-sync-setup-nightmare/20316/1):
>
> Oh sweet Mary and Joseph…It took me a long time to make my sync scheme works, and now it’s all gone… So, I sync form my Macs to the Synology that sits beside my computer… It was setup as in the first figure…now I’ve tried everything in the new setup window and get all sorts of errors…error 400, method not allowed… The URL now is preselected…tried the old url too… Any ideas…? Please… blush

In short: DT 2.8 put together the server and the path for you, which DT 2.9 no longer does. Perhaps this would be useful to explain in the manual / help document?

Smurf

Thanks a lot to Smurf !

and to Devon: How about simply telling that the formely ‘path’ now has
to be appended to the URL? It’s very annoying to install an update and
afterwards have to try for hours to recreate a sync store.

Best regards
Jan

Was mache ich falsch?

Was mache ich falsch?
