DT 4 Beta etc (15 characters!)

Good evening. (UK)
(I’s been sometime since I’ve contributed to the forum/ asked questions but demand for my services has become overwhelming so nowadays I’m working 6-7days a week 10-12 hours a day so don’t have as much spare time as before.)

I have downloaded DT4 Beta and paid. At least I knew I buying a beta. Now what? According to the payment the renewal is in April 2026 so. presumanbly DT4 proper will be availble this month?

I would like to use the DT4 sorter but my choice of keyboard selections aren’t available as apparently they are all used by DT4 or something like that.

I have exported my DT3 databases to a folder iI reserve for DT3 exports. I imported the database to. DT4 but they don’t show the files. Does that mean DT3 databases aren’t compartible with DT4? In any event, how to get the records from DT3 to DT4? II have skim-read the info about DT4 but it’s not obvious how to import the DT3 databases so perhaps what I’ve done is wrong?

I’m not interested in AI - from what little I’ve used of it elswhere it messes up what I want to say and insists upon wanting commas at every opportunity. Checking and correcting what it’s done to my text / content takes longer than manual editing. Summing up what I’m reading means having to read twice in case it has missed something.

For the time being I shall continiue using DT3.and, subject to your replies, conntent to do so until DT4 is out of beta.

No, that’s not correct. It will likely be a few months at least. And the year of updates will begin at the point the gold master is released.

I imported the database to. DT4 but they don’t show the files.

Imported from where?

Did you read this:

Thank you. I don’t have a separate user account and don’t have the time to create one and play around.

[incidentlly i skim-read the thread about the difference between DT and Obscure or something like that and had no idea what the contributors are talking about. Having used DT fior years and quite possibly only scratched the surface of DT’s capabilities, to embark upon another steep learning curve would be pointless. Long live DT!]
