I’ve raised a bug report but posting this here for info and in case anyone has useful comments.
DT3 is crashing repeatedly when importing (archive) from Apple Mail. The crashes happen with import of large (in numbers of messages) mailboxes. It may be that I’m hitting some kind of limitation of volume. I’ve done the obvious things like checking the database for integrity, but nothing has shown up as an obvious cause.
Does it crash or freeze? In addition, which version of macOS and DEVONthink do you use? Does DEVONthink have full disk access and is it allowed to automate Mail.app?
Crashes. Has disk access and automation permissions. MacOS 15.3 beta; DT 3.9.8
Jim suggested turning off conversation options in mail import, which seems to have worked. The affected mailboxes had thousands of messages - maybe that’s an issue? Although this isn’t the first time I’ve done a mass archive.
It’s an issue of a specific framework. Leave the conversation options disabled.
PS: Unless you’re specifically testing and reporting issues, it’s not a good idea to run a beta operating system on a machine you need operating normally.

A sensible point - I’m OK with the risks, and would have understood if you’d been unable to support for that reason.
We are more ecumenical in our support than many companies, so we don’t just cut people off. However, our focus is still on the least friction and most data-safe practices, so cautions are issued. But we are glad you acknowledge there are risks involved in using the beta.
