DT Pro and Scansnap

Forgive me if this has been covered…I did a search and all the replies were from years ago, and I want to make sure I’ve got the most up-to-date info.

I just bought a Scansnap iX500. Yeah!
Now…

  1. Do I need to upgrade from DT Pro to DT Pro Office to get the benefits? I’ve already bought OCR software, and FIneReader came with the Scansnap.
  2. Is there an overview of how to use DT Pro Office with the Scansnap?
  3. Do you have any other tricks/tips that might be useful?

DEVONthink Pro Office offers more than just OCR so the decision shouldn’t be based on just this one function. However, if looking at this one criterion: DEVONthink Pro will work with a third-party OCR app but offers no integration with ScanSnap Manager.
