Is there an estimated time for a release version of DEVONthink 4?

We don’t give out specific development timeframes for any releases, beta or otherwise but you could expect a few months.

The betatest of version 3 required 5 months, this time it will be hopefully a shorter test.

Thank you. I have installed DT4 beta. I will start using it to learn about it. If it looks like it will work for my needs, I will likely purchase it. From reading about the new license model, it looks like the plan is to release new versions sooner with new features, as opposed to waiting a few years for a major update.

Correct. The anticipated development cycle is smaller, more frequent updates throughout a year.

Features will ship whenever they’re ready from now on. In addition, the new license model enables us to react faster to trends (e.g. like generative AI).
