DEVONthink 4.02, Sonoma
I accidentally changed (don’t know how) the View/Edit Pane from List to Icon mode, and it is stuck in icon mode. How do I restore the list mode ?
In the menu View is set to as List
Quit →restart DEVONthink did not help
Please note that I am NOT referring to the Item List pane which is in List mode which is fine.

Your screen shot shows that “as list” is active. I’m confused about what your issue is. Please clarify.
The optional preview of groups (see *Settings > General > Interface > Behavior > Preview group content*) uses always icon view. This is identical to version 3, the only difference is that it’s not a hidden preference anymore.
sorry. I was confused.
My issue was that I was trying to display the contents of a group selected in the item list (list view) and see the contents in the List/Edit/Preview pane as a List, but @cgrunenberg explained that it is not an alternative ie icon mode only.
