DTP and ABBYY owned separately

Hi. I’m new to the forum and searches are bringing up info from 2007, so I apologize if this has been asked and answered - I can’t find it.

I own DTPro (not Office) and already own ABBYY. I can scan fine, using DTP’s Image Capture setting, but when I try to OCR (from a PDF in this case, haven’t tried a JPG yet), ABBYY opened and did it’s thing - then opened Word. I’d just like to keep my docs (particularly receipts) in DTP for future use, and have them searchable.

I didn’t see a script for this (but there are so many it seems). Any suggestions for a newbie? Thanks!

I’m not an ABBYY stand-alone user, but if you OCR using ABBYY and then Word opens, that is probably a setting in ABBYY and not in DEVONthink. I believe if you open ABBYY’s preferences there is a “task manager” that defines what happens after a document is OCRd.
