DTP: OCR not working properly

Hello to all,

I am using DTP 2.7.7 on a macbook pro retina model 2014. I am using a canoscan LIDE 110 scanner which works fine with digital images.

When I scan a document (scan, create new document), in the properties of the document the “OCR” option is sometimes set and sometimes not. It is not possible to change the checkbox. (see attachment).

Can anybody help?

Is there a possibility to OCR existing pdf files?

That’s possible via Data > Concert > To searchable PDF (Daten > Konvertieren > In durchsuchbares PDF).

The OCR should default to ON when creating a pdf document, if this is not the behaviour you are experiencing, I will investigate to see why this not happening.
