DTTG 2.1.6 und DTPO 2.9.12 Synchronistation

Hello

Is it possible to synchronice a database between iPad an iMac?

I carry out synchronicing between iMac and MBP via Bonjour.
I use Bonjour on MBP in Safari.
This work with two databases.

I clip some webarchive on DTTG on iPad.
I don’t see this on iMac.

I need help.

I ask this in German Forum, but my last question in this forum I don’t receive an answers.

Jochen

Yes, it’s possible. Sync is covered in the manuals, which can be downloaded here: devontechnologies.com/downlo … nuals.html.

Also, there are two Sync tutorials posted here: devontechnologies.com/suppor … rials.html

Thanks for feedback.
I read the manual and tutorials.

On iMac I have two DB.
a) Joachims Datenbank, 7.5 GB.
b) Reisen, 13,5 MB, 21 webarchives.
I will sync only b) Reisen.

On iPad none DB.

On iPad > Speicherorte > Joachim@hjk-imac.fritz.box > …

I see:

c) Eingang, Local, not activated.
d) Joachims Datenbank, not Local, not activated.
e) Reisen, not Local, not activated.

I activated e) Reisen and the 21 webarchives are on iPad.

f) So I think the settings correct on iPad.

My Question 1)

Is that f) right.

Regards

Jochen

Hello

About 11:40 on iMac DTPO I add one webarchive about clip in Safari.
About 12:00 on iPad DTTG open. The new webarchive isn’t to see.
Until 12:02 on iPad DTTG is open. No sync to see.
About 12:03 on iPad DTTG > settings > Sync location > click on button Edit
I see sync symbol (circle?) and then the new webarchive is in database on iPad.

Question 2
Is this normal workflow?
The schedule on iPad is automatic.

Jochen

About 17:00 on iPad DTTG open. I add one new webarchive about clip in Safari.
About 17:15 on iMac I open DTPO.
Until 17:30 on iMac new webarchive isn’t to see.
About 17:35 on iPad DTTG > settings > Sync location > click on button Edit
I see sync symbol (circle?) and then the new webarchive is in database on iMac.

Question 3

Is this normal workflow? I don’t think so.
What is my mistake or DTs mistake?

Jochen

DTTG2 must be open and active to Sync. It will not Sync in the background or when the device is locked.

Thanks for feedback.
Your answer isn’t clear for me.
There are a misunderstanding?

I add a webarchive on iMac.
DTPO and DTTG are open at the same time when I will sync.

I add a webarchive on iPad.
DTTG and DTPO are open at the same time when I will sync.

See my post

Jochen

Automatic sync schedule? Network connection? Have you tried to tap the sync button on one of the two devices?

Thanks for feedback.
My workflow with DTTG today 26.06.2017 18:00
I clip from Safari > Wikipedia one new webarchive.
It is stored in entry (Eingang).
I move it to my DB Reisen inside group Sehenswürdigkeiten.
DB Reisen with inside group Sehenswürdigkeiten is on iPad and iMac
I open DTPO on iMac.
I move to DB Reisen group Sehenswürdigkeiten.
I see nothing on iMac, no new webarchive
The setting of DTTG on iPad is in screenshot.

Where is a sync button in DTTG?

When I go in DTTG to settings > Speicherorte > Bearbeiten > Reisen the sync starts and then the webarchive is on iMac.
I thought the sync works automatic?

Jochen#

The sync is automatic but running on a schedule. It’s not immediate. If you want to sync right away tap the “cloud” button to sync. Or just wait a few minutes. Latest every five minutes, but usually within one minute, the automatic sync kicks in.

Thanks for feedback.

I wait and wait and wait …

Today:

iMac nearby iPad.

iMac > DTPO > DB > Reisen > group Sehenswürdigkeiten, add on 11:17, YouTube video, 2,3 MB.
iMac > DTPO > DB > Reisen > group Sehenswürdigkeiten, add on 12:17, RTF Text, 306 KB.

iPad > DTTG > DB > Reisen, clip a webarchive from Safari.
From entrance to group Sehenswürdigkeiten.
DB Reisen Time changed on 11:19

Now it is 12:40 and no video, no RTF, no webarchive on iPad and iMac.

Why is it so?
What is my mistake?
What is mistake of DT…?
