Due Reminders open DT if it isn't already open?

I’ve set up a journal in DT. On the main group, I’ve set a reminder for it, set daily at 7am. For the alarm, I chose “open”.

Will this open DT if it isn’t current running? I couldn’t tell from the manual. It says, “As a bonus, reminder alarms will open databases containing the item when an alarm triggers”, but doesn’t clarify if DT needs to be running.

This script just opens the item in a window but reminders don’t automatically launch DEVONthink.
