I’m recreating my genealogy database. I’ve created a group called Group Templates (see screenshot). Within it, I’ve made some categories groups, which are empty (templates).
Each time I create a new person in the Surnames group, I duplicate these groups to that person, then fill them with their files.
Is this going to cause me any uneccesary grief on down the road?
Technically this isn’t an issue but whether it’s ideal for your workflow is hard to tell. Instead of duplicating you could also export these groups as one template (see File > Export > As template…) and then use the template to create them.
