Editing Cursor in Plain Text Files missing

Updated to the newest Devon Think Pro 4.0.1 and now the Cursor while editing Plain Text Files on light Theme macOS Sequoia 15.5 is missing. On dark Theme there is a white Cursor … but not on the light Theme. What can I do? Already resetted Preferences and tried a couple of other things … no chance. In Rich Text Files the Editing Cursor shows,

Welcome @hofstaetter

  • What’s in light mode - DEVONthink or macOS?
  • If macOS, did it change via an Auto setting or did you change it?

Changing to Dark Mode in macOS causes DEVONthink to use the Dark Theme and there I have a (white) cursor the editing plain text files. In light mode there is no cursor. And now I know why. When changing the Background to grey I can see a white Cursor blinking. Seems the color of the cursor is white only and therefore invisible on white background. Could be a bug …

Does restarting the app fix this? If not a screenshot of Settings > Editing > Format might be useful.

Restarting the App or even the Macbook does not solve the problem … Cursor stays white and is only visible when changing to a non-white background color.

According to the screenshot the text color is light grey and the background dark grey - is this really intentional for light mode? Because that’s basically an inverted light mode appearance.

This is intentionally … on white background i couldn’t see the white cursor. Setting the colors like this i can see that there is a cursor (in white) present but invisible on white background.

The insertion point color depends on the background color in case of plain text. By default it’s black in light mode but due to your background color it’s white.

it stays white though when i put the background on white … therefore invisible …
macOS is on light mode …

Update: Whatever happened, now the insertion point shows black again after i changed back to white background, recorded a viseo with no cursor showing, changed to safari and back to DEVONthink again. strange, very strange. It stays this way when i restart DEVONthink. It seems the problem solved itself.
