Email integration?

Hi everybody;

I’ve been reading off & on for several months about DevonThink, in the final stages of perhaps buying. (done with Omni outliner)

I note that Office brings more email features. Where can I find more info (tutorial nor user manual is available it seems) on how DTPO would let me capture inbox, sent, and attachments? Thanks!

Oh, one reviewer stated that DT uses a normal file system, non-proprietary, as a back end for the database, like Curiota, but I have been unable to confirm.

Thank you!

It depends on whether you index your folders to DT (then the “back end” is your OSX folder structure, or whether you import folders/files into DT (this is a proprietary folder structure within DT).

Thanks for the question.

I am adding a specific question under “email integration”:

How do you concretely send an .rtf file ?

When I select a Web feed, the little “share” arrow of the note, which is above the menu of the note, allows me to send the link to an email client application.

When the note is an .rtf or a plain text file, the email option is not available among the accounts that are under the “share” (arrow) menu.

I would like a function which allows to send the content of a note, not just a Web link, to my email climate in one click within the note menus. Is it posible or contemplated by the DT team?

In DTPO, choose an RTF file then from the menu, choose Data>send by email…

Also, you may select one or more messages and drag to the Mail icon in the Dock. This will create a new email message containing the attached messages and ready to be addressed.

Thank you thank you thank you!
