Interesting. We store all document names as Unicode strings and don’t do anything special when showing them on screen. Noted.

Note: While it’s fine to use them in textual content or group names (as groups don’t exist in the filesystem), we don’t advocate their use in file or database names.
Thanks for that clarification! In the case of filenames, does it help if I have “More compatible naming of files” checked in Preferences?
You’re welcome and nope. That takes care of specific reserved or known problematic characters.

Fixed for the next update. The problem happened when transferring the document name with the composed emoji to DEVONthink To Go.
