Is there a way to exclude an entire database from the Chat feature (Devonthink 4)? In the Inspector, the corresponding option is greyed out (unless I have a folder or file from the database selected). Thanks!
The only options for databases are the ones available in File > Database Properties…. Anyway, you could either close the database or exclude all groups at the top level from the chat. In addition, you might want to disable the database search option Settings > AI > Chat and then only the selected items can be accessed by the chat assistant (if not excluded).
Thanks for your reply! I followed your suggestion and disabled the database search in the Preferences/AI settings. Unfortunately, Chat can now no longer search through selected folders and files—even those I haven’t explicitly excluded. So, that’s not feasible in practice. I also tried excluding all folders at the top level of a database, but it seems that newly added files and folders within these excluded folders do not ‘inherit’ this setting. Anything else I could try?
It’s sufficient to exclude enclosing groups or tags.
