It would be nice if, instead of being restricted to a choice of “Expand All” folders or “Collapse All”, we could expand to a specified number of levels. I often want to quickly see all the main sub-folders under a folder, without wanting to see every last sub-sub-folder and all the files contained therein…
I can see the value in that selectivity in some cases if you are working with a complex database with strict hierarchies.
Reminds me of this unanswered question:
Why does the Option key modifier add “expand/collapse all” functionality when clicking but not when Option-Left/Right-Arrow shortcuts are used?
