I have some EMLs with a fixed subject coming into DEVONthink which have an attacjhnment:
On arrival of these EMLs in DEVONthink how can I extract the attachment to a given folder?

macOS 14 (plus macOS 12 on the laptop) and DEVONthink 3 (soon DEVONthink 4).
Speaking of DEVONthink 4: Will it be easier under DEVONthink 4 to write a smart rule for attachment extraction of emails arriving in DEVONthink?
You likely won’t even need a smart rule as automatic attachment importing is built-in now. Preferential or on-demand.

Are you referring to the following check box in the Files section of the Settings?:
Yes, that would be the preferential option. The on demand option is under the Tools menu.
