Feature Request: Option to remove Strike-Through display in trash

That is correct. But how do you archive then what’s in an Exchange account cliented by Apple Mail into DTP?

Perhaps by selecting that account in Mail from DT and then importing it?

I don’t see how to do it. Obviously DTP cannot serve as a client to Exchange if exchange requires its own authentication.

You use Apple Mail as a client for Exchange. Then it authenticates with Exchange.
And you connect DT to Apple Mail. Then you should see your Exchange account in DT as any other account and be able to import from it.

Much as you do now with your Dovecot, except that you use an e-mail client instead of a server.

Did you try doing that?

This was asked for years (probably) ago on this forum and dismissed / ignored. DT devs / support obviously like it and think it’s a good idea even though… pointless to argue… but you’d think an option to make it look different wouldn’t be too hard to add.

My point exactly. And this is what really annoys me: Such a simple thing to add, probably would take me less than one cup of coffee to do, but keeps getting dismissed. Works as designed - well doh.

I tried a long while ago, so maybe in the meantime DTP got cleverer. I’ll try.

Rejoice. 4.4.1 is here, and now the content of the trash looks like this:

It’s easier to read, IMO. There’s still no option to change the appearance of items in the trash eg by choosing a different font.

sigh

Email import has been a function for at least a few years, but I saw you’ve been using DT for over a decade so your setup may pre-date the DT solution. It’s good though as it checks for duplicates during import and all the emails are archived as eml so can be opened and interacted with as usual. There’s also an option to automatically save attachments as separate files.

Interesting. A quick try confirmed that worked. I stick to my workflow though as it’s basically muscle motor memory, and I get those imported mails cleared out of my email inboxes by moving them over to DT. Thanks for pointing me towards that option.
