Frustrated...

When I scan docs from my Scansnap, I do NOT automatically OCR because I find that it is a resource drain. Instead, I bulk “Convert to Searchable PDF” during downtimes.

But that leaves me with legacy image pdf’s which I then have to go and delete one at a time.

Is there a way to “Convert to Readable PDF and Delete Original image pdf” at the same time? Or a way to identify those pdf’s that have been converted so I can select and delete en masse?

And one other thing…Why can’t I delete from the Inbox? Why do I have to “Move Items to Trash?” It’s extra steps for no reason that I can ascertain.

Thanks.

DEVONthink > Preferences > OCR > Original Document > Move to Trash

This is the setting to tell DTPO to delete the original after OCR is finished.

Thank you!

Any nuggets on how to get rid of the ones I already created?

I’ve been wondering about how to get more speed out from DevonThink. I suspect that if I scan now and then convert later that’ll do the trick.

Does anyone know if there’s an easy way to tell Devonthink to convert to searchable pdf overnight - ?

Paul

Select the files. Click Data > Convert > To Searchable PDF. Go to bed.
