Get Pinboard Tags into DT via RSS

Hi,

I want to (1-way) sync my Pinboard account to DT. Taking the RSS Feed appears to be the best option for, since the auto-update is very convient and the entries it generates in DT are almost perfect: Title, Link, Teaser. (Way better for me than only the links that the import-script is generating.)

The only issue is: It doesn’t hand over the tags (the import script does that) and that’s almost a deal-breaker for me. Have any ideas on how I could fix this? (Yes, “categories as tags” is checked.)

As an example, take this feed: feeds.pinboard.in/rss/secret:e98 … mediaries/.

Which change? Actually, I didn’t want to talk about the script since the RSS-Feed is just fine, except the non-inclusion of the tags. That’s what I like to fix and where I am looking for help.

Thanks for the comment, though.

OK, so there is a misunderstanding: The script DOES include the tags. But I prefer the RSS-Feed because…

  • (1) it is far more comfortable regarding for auto-updating my Pinboard Entries in DT (refresh feed every X minutes, doesn’t produce duplicates)
  • (2) I prefer the output of the RSS Feed (w/ Title, Links, Teaser, allowing DT to index all that) over that of the script (just the link, with title and teaser not being indexable/searchable by DT)

That’s why I prefer working with the feed rather than the script. Does that make sense?

Thanks for your commitment, any help is appreciated.

Best,
C.

Any ideas? The Tags are included in the RSS Feed.

Bump.

This is exactly what I’m trying to do.

An example feed (that’s not bringing the tags over):
feeds.pinboard.in/rss/t:devonthink/

Did anyone ever figure out a solution here?

Thanks,

  • David

Bump too. I’d rather not have to remember to import Pinboard content, and would rather not have to add automation for something RSS does in this case (tags).

Thanks!
