Hanging since DEVONThink 2.1 update

I don’t know if this is just me, but since the update, I’m finding that some actions are causing the spinning beachball, and after a long wait I need to force quit.

Right click any file and the beach ball will start spinning.

This is quite an important issue to fix for me ? Any advice appreciated. I will try a restart.

Pete

Actually a restart of my Mac seems to have solved.

A restart can often clear problems.

Sometimes errors accumulate in the computer’s memory. A restart reloads the operating system clears any ‘twiddled bits’ that may have been in memory.

A common cause of slowdowns is running out of free RAM. In that case, the computer uses Virtual Memory to swap data back and forth between RAM and disk. As hard drives are orders of magnitude slower in performing read/write operations, the computer slows down. A restart clears the swap files and provides maximum free RAM.

Note: Especially after a forced quit, or whenever ‘flaky’ things happen, it’s a good idea to run Tools > Verify & Repair to check for possible database errors.
