Same exact results for me for each of your searches
and since another user is getting the EXACT same results as me with Bing, I donāt think it is logical thatit is my setup.
A lot has happened in the digital industry over the past year. Many of the important changes happened in the backend, which means it wouldnāt be noticed directly by most users. Coincidentally, 2024 is also the first year we pass the 1.5ā mark.
I believe itās an issue with Bing, not with DEVONagent. That DEVONagent can get 10 results sometimes proves thereās nothing wrong with the client.
And it seems theyāre hellbent on making as many changes as possible in 2025.
That implies itās illogical Criss and I are having no issues
Have you tried shutting off your VPN and searching?
Yes, I have and like I said, they are exactly the same settings as with the Google plug-in, which is now working more or less. So less another user and I have done exactly the same thing wrong itās not my end.
No one said itās āyour endā but itās also not pointing at DEVONagent either. You are forgetting the fact that Bing is involved, as well as the network between you and them.
Also, if you spend 10 minutes searching online, you will find copious reports of issues people are having with Bing, people not using DEVONagent nor even a Mac.
Iām not trying to assign blame nor am I forgetting anything. I think Iām doing what any user would do in this situation which is to try to figure out what has gone wrong so it can be fixed. I was only saying I donāt believe it was something that I have configured wrongly on my end because it seemed to me that was what was being implied. That said, are there any thoughts as to how any of this might get resolved?
Maybe wait and see if anything changes in the next days.
When a problem was reported with Bing recently, I tried some searches and experienced the same. The next day everything was fine. I just tested the Bing plugin again ā still works fine here.
Iām not sure that was implied. But there are many variables involved, so itās useful to get as complete a picture as possible.
Tried again today and lo and behold, it is working again.
Thanks!
Bing is working correctly again so clearly an issue on their side.
Thanks again for the fast fix on Google.

Requiring JavaScript for Google Search is not about the fact that 99.9 percent of humans surfing the web have JavaScript enabled in their browsers. Itās about taking advantage of that fact to tightly control client access to Google Search results. But the nature of the true open web is that the server sticks to the specs for the HTTP protocol and the HTML content format, and clients are free to interpret that as they see fit. Original, novel, clever ways to do things with website output is what made the web so thrilling, fun, useful, and amazing. This JavaScript mandate is Googleās attempt at asserting that it will only serve search results to exactly the client software that it sees fit to serve. Thatās Googleās right. But itās sad.
Actually, this is not necessarily true. As a āgatekeeperā Google has additional obligations to honor the choice of its users. Apple has lost the right to maintain that all iOS apps be downloaded from the App Store. Then Google can lose the right to insist that all searches be conducted by select user agents, too, even though it would surely be a protracted legal process if it does happen.
