Can you explain how this feature works. The documentation says that links that match the search query are followed but that isn’t clear. Does it mean that the program follows links on a page x levels deep trying to match the query?
No. By default DEVONagent is only using “promising” links: Links near a occurrence of a search word or links containing a search word. But you can also specify your own term (compared to the description of the link) to follow, e.g. * to follow all links.
Thanks, that helps. I have been fooling around with this and haven’t yet found anything I wouldn’t have found anyway, but I will keep on trying. I had it set to go 5 levels deep but that really slowed the search down so I settled on 2 levels.
1 or 2 levels are usually sufficient.
