# How to create hyperlink with anchor text

I love the way DEVONthink let’s me copy a hyperlink on a webpage and paste it into a new document… it allows me to see keep the “anchor text” for reference, yet keeps its “clickability.”

My question is, how do a create a clickable phrase from scratch in DEVONthink? I see the “Make Link” option, but that simple creates an internal DEVONthink link (which by the way is very cool).

Can you point me in the right direction to make clickable “anchor text hyperlinks” from scratch in a DEVONthink document?

I just tried a couple of different things, only the following worked for me:

type web address  
select what you typed  
pull down Format\>Make Link  
select link again  
type new text
