I have two Mac, an iPhone and an iPad syncing inbox and other DB
One of the devices had 35,447 emails in an archive in the ‘inbox’
I can see the files, but when I try to drag the files to another DB to move out of the INBOX it fails. The app goes 100% not responsive for hours, and returns with the files not moved.
Did you try to delete them? And not to move them to another DB, as you wrote.
another option: delete them in finder directly ( but this would create orphaned documents in DT…). But you can still try if you no longer need those emails.
That’s a very large amount of data to move around at one time.
I get email into Devonthink through Drag and Drop, isn’t that the new way from Apple Mail?
It is one way but I would not advocate dragging and dropping thousands of emails from Apple Mail either. (I would also not advocate copying and pasting thousands of emails (or any, personally).)
I can see the files, but when I try to drag the files to another DB to move out of the INBOX it fails.
This is also unclear as to if you’re dragging and dropping from Apple Mail into a database or between databases in DEVONthink.
To be clear, the mail blob is gone. Delete, remove trash with the sync off on the one Mac, then turning sync on, seems to be deleting them from the iPhone as well, will check the other devices when I get to their locations.
Copy, and Paste will be my go to I guess. Did not know you COULD do this from Mail to DT.
