How to display the document's "Author" column in DT4 ?

Dear all,

I have used Devonthink for several years with version 2, then 3 and now switched to 4. I am managing many documents including emails. Under previous versions of Devonthink (2 and 3), I was enabling an “Author” column in my views to display who sent an email or who created a document. When I switched to DT4 on the same macOS, this was working nicely.

Recently, I have bought a new mac and have migrated my databases on the new laptop manually, only installing version 4 which I am now using. Everything is working nicely, except I do not find any way to display the “Author” column and I do not understand why. The field is just not available.

Anyone has a clue how to solve that problem ?

Many thanks.

Regards

Florent

Welcome @Florent
Your Macs are independent machines, therefore they have their own settings. The Author column had to have ben enabled by you on the old machine and you would follow the same procedure on this Mac.

Choose View > List Columns and enable it.
If it’s not shown, select View > Customize Metadata and enable the attributes you want to display or sort on.

Hi @BLUEFROG

Many thanks for your answer.

The View > Customize Metadata menu allowed me to enable the Property as a column (which I could not achieve by other ways, did not see that one). Worked perfectly, thanks.
