How to enable reminders?

I’m starting to get into automating a few things in DTPO. I’ve written a couple of scripts and added them to the scripts menu and they work fine.

I’m now experimenting with reminders and would like to have a script get triggered by a reminder.

However, reminders do not seem to be working at all for me. I tried the following and received NOTHING, no notification at all:

  • Make a new markdown file. Give it a name and some text.
  • Open up the Reminders inspector and set a one time reminder for 5 minutes from now and select “Display Alert” from the “Alarm” drop down menu.
  • Wait 5 minutes.

Is there some setting I need to enable to get this working? I’ve tried other items from the “Alarm” menu and none of them seem to work. What am I missing here? I’ve searched the forum here and didn’t see an answer to this problem.

(Background details: MacOS “Big Sur” 11.2.3, DTPO 3.6.3)

If you use the Once internal, if defaults to tomorrow at the same time, so I’d guess you changed the minutes but not the date.

Yeah, I forgot the first time I tried it. But I tried it again just now and made sure the time and DATE were set to today (see attached screen shot) and I still get nothing.

The file I made is in a group in a new database I recently created.

I found and fixed the problem. It was a self-inflicted wound. I had un-checked “Enable reminder alarms” in the “General” tab in preferences. Sigh. :man_facepalming:t2:
