How to exclude tags from searches?

I have far too many tags, many of which are redundant and which causes confusion in my searches by adding a long list of tags to my search results.

Until I find the time to re-organize and rename my tags, Is there a way to exclude tax from my searches?

You could add the condition kind:!tag to your search.
