How to get Devonthink to automatically OCR

My scanning workflow is to scan documents on my iPhone via the files app onto my iCloud Desktop. Longpress on the Files app → Scan documents.

Then I have Hazel pick up any PDF’s on my Desktop and import them into Devonthink’s global inbox. It works pretty well however Devonthink doesn’t automatically OCR the PDF so I have to manually OCR and then delete the non OCR’d version.

I do have the setting enabled Convert incoming Scans to Convertible PDF.

I have tried scanning automatically into Devonthink from my iPhone but run into the roadblock “Authentication Required”.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Set up a smart rule to watch your inbox and act on import. That topic has been discussed often already, there’s nothing new to add.

Searching for “scan ocr” or something similar should help. And there’s probably also a blog post on that at the DEVONtechnology site.
