How to include an image in a Markdown document?

Understood. I’m just clarifying so no one misunderstands that we are not intentionally supporting Zettelkasten, second brain, etc. though adopters of such things may benefit from broader changes we make.

Stay tuned.

Resuming the post just to know if there’s any news about

Did you have a look at the changes of version 3.8? See e.g. Preferences > Files > Markdown.

It’s really awesome images can be exported into folders automatically! Is there a chance you could use the x-devonthink-item in the document instead of the relative path to the document?

Maybe it will help someone, finally I built a Keyboard Maestro script that will:

  • Capture paste hotkey
  • See if I’m working on a markdown file and the pasted element is an image
  • save the image in a new file on the attachments directory of my vault
  • Paste markdown embedded link to the image
  • Asynchronously run Image Optimizer to compress the image

This script works along Devonthink, Typora, Obsidian, Taio and so on. So I benefit in the same workflow along all my markdown editors. Been using this for months and I forgot it was even there hehe.

In iOS I use a different approach, I use a Shortcut to stick screenshots together into a PDF, run OCR in Prizmo and then leave the markdown link on the clipboard to get pasted on the md file.
