# How to open DEVONnote from backup?

I’m backing up my DN (~Library/application support/devonnote 2) to external drive.  
How to open DN from the backup ?

DEVONnote only opens the database residing at `~/Library/Application Support/DEVONnote 2/`. So you cannot easily switch between the copy on your hard drive and the backup. To use exclusively the backup replace the folder `DEVONnote 2` on your hard drive with an alias to its new location on your backup drive.
