How to prevent conversion from Hashtags to Finder tags?

I have a DT database with various RSS newsfeeds.

Initially, I had the “Convert … to Tags” entries in “Preferences/Import” activated.
But as this created thousands of Finder tags that slowed down my system significantly, I disabled all of the above mentioned options and removed all the tags from the files in “/Users/NAME/Library/Metadata/com.devon-technologies.think3”.

However, after updating the database in DT3.5.1, for new feed entries again hashtags are converted to Finder Tags.

How can this option be permanently disabled?

You’re talking about two different things here: RSS categories and hashtags. They are not the same thing.

In Preferences > Import disable Tags > Convert hashtags to tags.

I think this should be Preferences > RSS disable Convert categories and hashtags to tags

Nope. Again, two different things.
Disabling the category conversion to tags is one step.
You can also disable converting hashtags to tags as another step.
