How to remove the sorter

Without the ability of the sorter to auto hide like the dock or better yet move it to the dock, and bugs that cause it to position itself between two monitors instead of the edge and inability to turn it of permanently, I find that the sorter ends up being rather more annoying then useful. It interferes with the full screen display of many apps, and requires me to manually shut it down every time I restart the machine.

I have set the “Start Sorter at Login” option off, but this option is clearly broken. I have installed a recent update and selected the option to not install the sorter. However the sorter is still present and will always start when the machine is restarted. I’ve search the web, faq and forms and find very little information on the subject, other then what I’ve tried.

How can I remove the sorter?

Launch System Preferences. Click on “Accounts” and select the Login items tab. Select “DEVONthink Sorter” and click on the “-” button to remove it from the list of Startup items.

Logout/Login, and the Sorter will not be running.
