Thanks! I do now have the Bartender 6 beta working in Setapp; it has quite a few rough edges compared to the Sequoia version, but I’ll see how I get on.
For sake of completeness (or approaching it), there’s also barbee. While hunting the link fo Barbee, I found this page with even more bartender alternatives, including a recipe to roll (and debug) your own for bettertouchtool users.
I’ve tried using Bartender 6 on macOS Tahoe for some days now… unfortunately, it’s a buggy mess.
It does not keep the order of the items; I often see duplicates; it’s overall slow and buggy.
For now, I decided to uninstall it, and don’t use any menu bar customization apps

I’ve been using Ice, after @BLUEFROG commented, and like it. I’m not on Tahoe yet.

Please update/edit your Getting Started info page for “How to Reorganize Your Menu Bar.”
We rarely update our blog post because we now have more than a thousand of them. They are valid at the time we published them but may, like any publication, become outdated over time.

I wasn’t aware this was a blog post; I am reading through the opening window ‘screens’ which I didn’t see identified as blog posts at any point.
You mean the daily tips? Yes, they are derived from the blog and only those of the last two years are in the tips rotation so the outdated ones fade away from there after a while.
Meanwhile, Thaw is much better, opensource and free. It’s a fork of Ice.
I’ve tried it. Unfortunately, quite buggy (at least on Tahoe). So I’m back to “vanilla” menubar.
I just looked at the website and it says “Ice is free for anyone to use”. There is a page for donations:
are you talking about Ice or Thaw? With Thaw in the current version it works flawlessly for me (which was not the case with Ice)

Does anyone know, wether Ice is still under development? I updated to Golden Gate and Ice stopped working.The latest version is 0.11.3 beta, still (since last year, I guess).
