Hyphens

A minor point, this, but if I search for my surname, ‘Stafford-Fraser’, the hyphen is used to indicate ‘NOT Fraser’. This isn’t really about finding me, though, but about hyphenation in general.

In most other systems that I’ve come across, hyphenated phrases are either treated as one word or as two separate words, or, often, as both.
To use the ‘-’ to mean ‘NOT’ you have to precede it with whitespace.

There may be a good reason for DA not doing this, but it wasn’t quite intuitive for me.
