Hi All - Long time DT user, but I’ve always been a dabbler 
Im looking to up my usage… I have a CHATGPT account and I pay 20/month for (Just started) - But I see no way to get an API key to be able to use DT4. It looks like Open AI and ChatGPT are different accounts… is that the case? I seem to have an Open AI account as well - but I think that may have been something I set up before and don’t really use (or know how to use!) - Can anyone help ?

Even if someone has it “set up”, you still need to go to OpenAI and get the API key. The current URL is: https://platform.openai.com (and that’s not in the documentation as it could change).
By the way, the Help section is AMAZING … I’m going to delve deeper on some other topics

I understand that much at least - I just cant even find the place on Open AI to get the key! Its all very confusing

I worked very hard to make version 4’s Help a bit friendlier and offer more practical examples as well. It’s still evolving but I’m proud of how it turned out.

Log in or create an account on the link I gave you.
Then click the avatar at the upper right and go into your profile.
Look at the API keys section. You can create a key there.
Here I have two set up. Bear in mind, you will need to copy and store that API key somewhere, in case you need to re-enter it, e.g., if you’ve trashed your preferences when troubleshooting. You can’t access it in your AI account.
