iCloud size in cloud compared to on Finder, etc

I’m using iCloud for syncing in the place of Dropbox which I am retiring. (Also using a portable external drive as a local sync base). In system preferences / iCloud / Manage, I see 46.4 GB in use, but in Finder my databases (without the Global Inbox which is nearly empty) take up 51 GB. Is this 10% discrepancy normal?

Also, although I don’t use Devonthink To Go, the 46.4 GB at system prefs / iCloud / Manage shows up as Devonthink To Go, and not as Devonthink 3. But under system preferences / iCloud Drive / Options, I must enable Devonthink 3 (and there is no reference to DT To Go in this location).

Can I assume that none of this need worry me? Correctly, no individual DT3 databases show in Finder / iCloud Drive (and I am not, of course, trying to open files from iCloud Drive itself).

Is this 10% discrepancy normal?

Sure. And it won’t always be ~10%. As noted in the Help > Documentation > In & Out > Sync

It’s not a copy of your database in the sync location, so it won’t be a match in file sizes.

That name is provided by macOS / iCloud.

Thank you for your help! Much appreciated.

You’re very welcome!
