iCloud Sync issues

I have been having the hardest time with Sync and iCloud.

firstly I’m running the trial version of Devonthink, as I’m evaluating it to purchase. I have an iCloud account which is large enough, 2 macs (work and home) and after I successfully sync those will add an iphone and ipad. (i already purchased DevonThink2GO.)

Questions:

Is the Trial version an issue for sync?
errors I receive are, “invalid encryption key” OR “property list invalid.”

And moreover, I haven’t successfully “sunk” anything. Is there a step-by-step tutorial I could follow or YouTube video? I’ve been searching, but no luck.

No, there is no trial limitation for syncing.

This means you are entering an incorrect encryption key, or entering a key when none was specified when you first enabled the sync location.

Have you checked Window > Log in DEVONthink?

I checked it and it said, “property list invalid.”

Then it had “clear” or “save” at the bottom of the window. (Which i cleared.)

is there a “set up iCloud” pdf or video I can follow?

Do this…

  1. In DTTG’s Settings > Sync: Edit Locations, touch the Edit link and delete the iCloud location.
  2. In DEVONthink’s Preferences > Sync, right-click the iCloud sync location and choose Clean Location. This will clear out any sync data. You can now add, modify, or remove an encryption key for the sync location , but it must be done before you sync a database.
  3. Sync to the location again.
  4. After a successful sync, set up the iCloud location in DTTG, using the same encryption key, if you specified one.

DTSync is done locally, then iCloud uploads to Apple’s servers, then to devices using your Apple ID. This means databases may not be immediately available to sync on the other devices. The initial sync requires patience, as we have no control over the speed and reliability of iCloud’s process.

Now that my iCloud sync is correctly set up in DTTG, how can I see the remote databases created on my Mac computers ? Doesn’t show with evidence. The little cloud (sync) icon at the bottom is also grey.

After a moment, DTTG indicates the key is invalid, and changes “iCloud” indication for “Boîte globale”. This is a nightmare. Can’t get synchronization on DTTG running.
