Inane post :) Just Loving DevonThink

I’m a long ways from being a tech guru like most of you here, but I muddle my way through. Yesterday, since I’ve been beta testing a lot of software for the last year (including Sequoia), I decided it was time to format my 3 year old M1 MacBook Pro and do a clean install of everything.

The very first thing I put back on was DevonThink… the software houses everything I need to function! It went without a hitch. There, in my inbox, was my check list made from the Task List template, of all the software I needed to reinstall. And in my vault, all of my serial numbers and activation codes:)

Syncing with my old iMac via Bonjour… easy peasy and back in place.

Are you using a sheet or some other type of document for this?

No, I have a Major Purchases folder, subdivided into groups (appliances, cars, software, etc) with each of those having more subfolders. For software, each app has its own folder, with the purchase email, digital manual, and license. I just do those in plain text.

DevonThink is what I dream my closets could look like. LOL
