I have two Pages docs in my global Inbox. One is shown with the Pages app’s icon as a thumbnail, the other one with (probably) a miniaturized version of its content.
This doesn’t change when I restart DT nor when I open/close the document with the Pages app icon in Pages (by double-clicking in DT).

Shown where exactly? In the item list? Maybe one has a thumbnail, the other one hasn’t?
Yes, in the item list. I thought that DT and/or Pages generates the thumbnail automagically. I didn’t do it, at least not consciously.
I see the same variety of thumbnails with Pages, as well as with Numbers and Keynote.
Interesting, that the thumbnail for a given document can appear as one thing in DEVONthink and another thing when the document is shown in Finder.
Probably another case where Sonoma couldn’t get something right, even with Apple products.
This depends on the preferences but is also possible on demand.
It is enabled.
That’s likely the cause then.
