Index filetypes

I have some dropbox folders that have a LOT of files, but I want to pick about 25% of them, the pdf only. I know I could index the whole folder and create a smart folder, but Is there a way to only index filetypes? Is there any advantage to this?

With the File > Index command you can, of course, select the files within a folder that you want to index. The whole folder does not have to be the selection. Other that, there is no other way to configure indexing to limit its scope to certain file types. There are preferences to limit importing to certain file types, but not indexing.

You might put that on the new features list. It would be handy to eliminate some of the clutter.
