Hi,
I’m relatively new to DT3. I was using DT3 on an older MacBookPro. Just one database. After installing DT3 on a new MBP, I was following instructions for migration, but cannot find any “dtBase2” database files on the old (or new) laptop. I may have or may not have de-activated the license on the old MBP before looking. Am I missing something? Could the database have disappeared?
(Note: I would not have encrypted the database, and I cannot find a “dtSparse” either.)
Thanks,
Jon
Was this database created by you or maybe just the global inbox?
I was wondering about that. I was new to DT3 when I set it up and can’t quite remember. It may well be everything is/was in a global inbox. That said, when I launch the older instance of DT3 on the older laptop, the inbox is empty (although I removed the license and replaced the license in the meantime).
I do have TimeMachine backups, in principle, if the solution is to recover a previous version of Inbox.dtBase2 (though not sure how to search the hidden “Library” in this case.)
Thanks,
Jon
- In the Finder, select the Go menu while holding the Option key, then choose Library.
- Go into the Application Support/DEVONthink 3 directory.
- The Inbox.dtBase2 file is there.
Thanks. Didn’t think to do that before I opened TimeMachine.
Found the old file and recovered what I needed.
Problem solved.
Excellent!
