This may be too much to ask, but what the heck, right???
I’m using DEVONthink as my “pensieve” so to speak and I’ve got a lot of links between my files and other files. These are merely RTF files that I’ve created within DT. I’m planning on archiving the ones that are no longer relevant by moving them to a folder called “history”. (These are details you probably don’t need but …) Anyway, I’ve got internal links between my documents and those links break when I move the items to the “archive” folder. Is there anyway to keep this from happening? TIA.
What kind of links? Static links between text in a DT document and another document within your DT database? Wiki links between text in a DT document and another document within your DT database? In either of these cases, documents may be moved between groups without breaking links.
But if you move such a linked document outside the DT database, e.g. exported to a Finder folder, the links are no longer relevant and will not work.
Or do you mean still another type of link such as a Finder document icon dragged and dropped into a rich text document?
I guess they’re static links between 2 DT documents. (The link was created by highlighting the text and pressing cmd+shift+m.) When I move the document to another group (my archive), the link is most definitely broken.
Or it was. I just tried it again and it worked this time. Strangeness. Anyway, thanks for the reply…
