Is it possible to index a file that lives inside an application's packaged Resources?

I want to be able to index a file that lives in the Resources folder of an installed application.

Example:
I have Scrivener installed. The user guide lives in the Resources folder of the Scrivener application package. I want to link my notes to particular pages of the user guide. The only way I have found to do this is to copy the pdf to a temporary location and import it to DEVONThink. Then I can capture links to the pages.
If I try to index the user guide, I can see that Applications folder, but I can not show package contents to provide the index path for DEVONThink.

No, this is not a wise thing to do. Updates to an application’s internals could break the links or show files as missing.
